Planning process timeline (text version)

This is a text alternative for the planning process timeline graphic. The graphic shows nine steps across two tracks: General Plan and EIR, and Public Outreach. Steps 1 to 5 are complete. The project is currently at Step 6 (marked "We are here"). Steps 7 to 9 are upcoming.

1. Step 1 (2007 to 2015, complete): General Plan and EIR - Project start-up and information gathering. Public Outreach - website launch, stakeholder outreach, visitor surveys, and public workshops.
2. Step 2 (2007 to 2015, complete): General Plan and EIR - Existing conditions and resource evaluation. Public Outreach - regulatory agency outreach, technical studies, and database reviews.
3. Step 3 (complete): General Plan and EIR - Vision and goals dialogue. Public Outreach - web outreach.
4. Step 4 (complete): General Plan and EIR - Develop and evaluate land use alternatives. Public Outreach - web outreach and public workshop.
5. Step 5 (complete): General Plan and EIR - Select preferred alternative. Public Outreach - web outreach.
6. Step 6 (Early 2026, current step - We are here): General Plan and EIR - Notice of Preparation (NOP) and scoping. Public Outreach - web outreach.
7. Step 7 (Early 2026 to Mid 2026): General Plan and EIR - Prepare preliminary General Plan and Draft EIR. Public Outreach - web outreach, notice of availability, public comment period, and public workshop.
8. Step 8 (Mid to Late 2026): General Plan and EIR - Prepare final General Plan and Final EIR. Public Outreach - web outreach.
9. Step 9 (Late 2026 to Early 2027): General Plan and EIR - Plan adoption. Public Outreach - web outreach and commission hearing.
